We’ve added a link on our links page to a photographer called Clive Marchant who you will see has produced some fantastic vivid shots of not only National Hot Rods (and Chris Haird in particular), but other genres of racing too, see the sample picture on the left, click it to see a larger version. We’re pleased to welcome to the Haird Motorsport fold #95 Gavin Murray. Gavin is an accomplished racer having had career success in both 1300 Stock Cars and Lightning Rods, and in his first full season of National Hot Rod racing has qualified very comfortably for the World Final. Gavin has taken delivery of a new Haird Motorsport 206cc which had its first shakedown at the Thunder 500 meeting. Picture Here

World Series Ipswich Monday May 26th

An absolutely dreadful weather afternoon greeted the Haird Motorsport team on arrival at Ipswich, and the performance of #115 Chris Haird matched the atrocious conditions, with only really an 8th place in Heat three to talk of.

So next – Birmingham Wheels on June 14th

Short Circuit Magazine

Thanks to Martin Kingston, a revealing insight feature into the inner workings of Haird Motorsport appears in Short Circuit Magazine as he spends some time with the team.

He also profiles the Dutch driver campaigning a new Haird Motorsport 206cc Jon Van Den Bosch

World Series Mallory Sunday May 11th

The annual (really) long track pilgrimage and a much better day for #115 Chris Haird.  The 206cc looking the business all day1

8th in Heat one

WIN in heat 2

10th in Final.

World Series Hednesford Monday May 5th

Heat two 10th place for Chris and a seventh in the final.

World Series Hednesford, Sunday April 13th

As the team are making their way to Hednesford, a mad dash from Heathrow Terminal 3 enables David Haird to do both Dubai Autodrome and Hednesford all in the same day!! Thanks to Richard Smith for rendezvous at South Mimms and lift to Cannock!!

Another day with scant points reward for #115 Chris Haird frankly with a 3rd place in heat three and 14th place in the final.

Dubai Autodrome

As preparations were being made for the next outing for National Hot Rod #115 Chris Haird at Hednesford, the Haird Motorsport team principal David Haird was jetting off to the Dubai Autodrome for the finals of the GP2 Asia Series and inaugural Speedcar series Championship, accompanying the GP2 Asia and Speedcar worldwide TV commentator Dave Richardson.  Needless to say a good time was had with David being spotted on worldwide TV at one point – wandering through the packed pitlane before the GP2 final – offering worlds of wisdom to the Isport driver Bruno Senna!

Johnny Herbert won the Speedcar Series

Romain Grosjean won the GP2 Asia series

Wonder if David managed to persuade Johnny to guest in a National?

World Series Skegness, Sunday April 6th

Annual day trip to the funcoast! And a fifth place in the final for #115 Chris Haird.  The final was won by 844 Billy Bonnar – well done Billy!

World Series Ipswich, Monday March 24th

Back to Chris’ home track and of course home to the World Final in July, and at last some more points on the board.

Heat 2 6th place

Heat 3 9th place

World Series Northampton, Friday March 21st

Various problems meant a dismal day for #115 Chris Haird with no points (apart from attendance) to speak of.
